Issue:
You open an AutoCAD drawing containing wide polylines, but they do not appear to be filled.The variables FILL and FILLMODE are both set to the value 1.
Causes:
Polylines are 2D objects. Fill cannot displayed if
Select PolyLine Entity with single click and then open Right Click options Select option PolyLine Edit. Curve created with this option won’t pass through each vertices of PolyLine. Width: This option will specify new width to whole polyline even though your start and end width are different. Usually when you want to join lines into a polyline you have to select the lines that are going to be joined in a sequential order. The picture below describes this process. You start with the first line and then select accordingly. And if you dont pick in the correct order, your polyline may only partially turn out the way that you wanted it to.
- The view orientation is not set to 'Top'
- You are using a 3D visual style
Solution:
To change to Top view:For AutoCAD, do one of the following:
- Click 'Top' in the Viewcube.
- In the top-left corner of the drawing area, click [Custom View] and choose 'Top' from the pull-down menu.
- At the command prompt, type -VIEW and press Enter.
- Enter O (Orthographic).
- Enter T (Top).
(Not applicable to AutoCAD LT)
- At the command prompt, enter VS (VSCURRENT).
- Enter 2 (2dwireframe).
